Łódź is the city of future. Thanks to the rising funds for the renovation of the city’s monumental buildings the touristic attractiveness also rises. Each year more tourists visit Łódź. The factory architecture which is unique in the European scale becomes one of our greatest treasures. The plans of revitalisation of the Księży Młyn district and the perspective of building a new city centre in the area of the old power station EC-1 and the Łódź Fabryczna station are a chance to make Łódź’s future really colorful.
Łódź is only 120 km from Warsaw. To rise the city’s attractiveness there are plans of transport integration of the Łódź and Warsaw metropolitan areas. The project is called PORTAL Poland. It concerns the solid cooperation between the two cities’ authorities to join Łódź and Warsaw with a fast train InterCity, which could shorten the time of travel between them to 60 minutes. The project also concerns cooperation in building the section of the motorway joining Łódź and Warsaw.
Łódź is a city open for the local and foreign investors. Companies such as Dell, Gillette, Merloni, Coca-Cola, Metro AG, Lg Group appreciated the convenient conditions and the presence of numerous financial institutions. These factors together with a rich scientific and technical background and specialised staff make more and more foreign capital come to Łódź each year.
