The cultural heritage of Lodz is very interesting and varied. It is known mainly for its vast museum collections. The Museum of Art in Lodz was the first collection of modern art in Europe!

The exhibits start from Lodz avant-garde famous in Poland and in the world. Other artistic activity is provided by The Museum of Art and Lodz Film school, as well as Łódź Kaliska and Warsztat Formy Filmowej artistic groups. In 1981 in Lodz a unique, international artistic movement was established; International Artists’ Museum (IAM). It led to many exhibitions and events throughout the world. Up to this day there are IAM offices in Berlin, Dublin, Eindhoven, Melbourne, Moscow, Paris, Tel Aviv and New York.
